Unless you're a North Scottsdale regular, you're probably just another unknown patron at Four Peaks Grill & Tap. But that doesn't mean you can't find any old friends: they go by the name of Kiltlifter, Eighth Street ale and Hop Knot IPA.
Much like the USO Show brings a little taste of the familiar to soldiers deployed to far-away lands, wayward regulars of Four Peaks Brewing Company's original location in Tempe can grab their favorite locally-brewed pint if they happen to stray 20 miles to the north.
No, this location isn't located in a historic building, instead residing in a run of the mill strip mall right off the 101. And no, they don't brew any of the delicious beer on site. But the folks at the Grill & Tap don't skimp on the charm and comforts that made the original a favorite.
This location features a menu identical to the first, including $3.00 pints and $11 pitchers at happy hour and a full-fledged food menu, including the highly-recommended beer bread sandwiches.
A partially-outdoor patio, pool table and big-screens and expansive seating all make repeat appearances, and an upstairs, lofted seating area is a pleasant surprise.
But what really sets the Grill & Tap apart is the atmosphere. Due to its highly-commercial location, lunchtime is the busiest time. It's much easier to find a table at night than the original location, lending itself to a slightly more laid-back atmosphere.
