This little red-brick gem has won the hearts of many now-regulars by going against the grain of the "average bar," offering delicious cuisine and finely-crafted beer only a micro-brewery could provide.
The bar/restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on the weekends.
The Brewhouse serves up six staple beers every day, all carefully formulated and aged on-site.
Sonora's takes on old favorites like Hefeweizen and Amber, and the extra-hoppy Trooper IPA and Stinger Pale Ale are all delicious alone or with food. The Light Rail Cream, a super-sweet ale, and the full-bodied Porter, strong with the flavors of chocolate and vanilla, are an adventurous departure from the norm.
Sit in the Brewer's Den, the establishment's large, open-seating room with a clear view of the brewing equipment, and you might be lucky enough to see the brewmaster perfecting his craft.
Try a four-ounce sample of all six brews for $6. Pints go for $3.75, and you can take home a full 64-ounce growler for $12. Bring it back to refill for only $9.
The kitchen doesn't skimp on the details either, serving up a slew of appetizers such as hand-made kettle chips and spicy green chile and artichoke cheese dip. All of the Brewhouse's entrees ring up under $10, with the exception of the Kobe beef burger, a steal at only $10.29.
Happy hour has some specials in store from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., when pints are $1 off and appetizers are half-price.
