New bar offers Mexican flare and cheap drinks

Strike while the iron is hot – that’s the case for Tempe
Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day and features half-off appetizers and all drinks. This means that you can get top shelf drinks for well price.
The bar features tacos, salads and other typical Mexican fare. But the appetizer menu is where the bar shines. With a variety ranging from oysters to nachos to wings, you can’t go wrong.
San Felipe’s also offers a plethora of special margaritas to choose from at cheap prices. $12.75 gets you the “Tidy Fish Bowl,” which is 25 ounces of Blue Curacao margarita served in a fishbowl that you get to keep. If the mentioned happy hour is taken advantage of, 25-ounce margaritas range from $4.50 to a little over $6, and an average appetizer goes for about $4, which can really ease up on the wallet.
The décor is a beach theme that includes a giant fake shark hanging over a sizeable patio. It also offers a few decent DJs that actually mix songs rather than play them off of their iTunes.
Overall it’s a solid bar that hasn’t picked up the annoying crowds and is likely offering great prices to attract new customers to the marketplace.

This was the most horrible place I've been to yet. The service was the worst. $18 fajitas weren't even enough to feed my two year old. I had to dig through the peppers just to find a few worthy pieces of steak meat to make one small little burrito out of it. (Continued…)

The margaritas may be tasty but it's hard to find out with the inattentive staff.

This place is disgusting - almost as dirty feeling as Mexico. One of the trashiest places I've been...come on, stripper poles on the bar? I will never go back considering the type of people that go there. (Continued…)

Me and my wife went to san felipes cantina in Tempe AZ Saturday 6/28/08 they wouldnt let me in becouse I have my daughters name tattoo on my neck, they said just that day management told the workers not to let people in with tattoos above there shoulders. (Continued…)

The worst place ever...seriously....the staff act like they dont care...Maria Maria's...the one in the same area is much better
