When you first walk through the doors of Mill Avenue’s Caffe Boa, images of small European cafes and Italian wine bars instantly come to mind as you’re greeted with the scents of olive oil and fresh bread.

Locally owned and operated since 1994 by husband and wife team Jay and Christine Wisniewski, Caffe Boa is a little taste of European decadence right here in the desert.

“It’s casual, yet energetic and is full of all sorts of people from younger college students to older people who enjoy wine,” says bartender Adrienne Stark.

If wine is your style, you are pretty much guaranteed to find the perfect selection. The owners hand-select all the wines and try to represent each region of the world through their selection. With a 2,500-bottle wine selection, you can go there again and again and probably never get sick of what you’re drinking.

Happy hour is every day from 4 p.m. to

7 p.m., featuring some great deals including half off most appetizers, half off signature martinis, half off all wines under $10 and $2 drafts.

While you are snacking and sampling drinks, you can relax to the smooth sound of live jazz every Friday and Saturday night.

Both the appetizer and dining menus feature some great Italian organic cuisine, including standards like fettuccini pasta and tortellini to unique signature plates like the Voodoo Penne, which combines the spice of New Orleans with the flavors of traditional Italian pasta.

Bottom line: This is a great place to get amazing high quality food and spirits for an even more amazing low price in a relaxed casual, yet sophisticated atmosphere.
