Will 200,000 kids really chug-a-lug before class on Thursday?

More than 200,000 college students nationwide have suggested they plan to go to class drunk on Thursday through a Facebook page titled “National Go to Class Drunk Day.”   While being drunk on campus is nothing new – schools across the country have recently instituted programs meant to curtail student drinking – the seemingly organized effort of such an event is.

New studies suggest steroids popularity extending beyond athletes

New research is showing steroids usage is spreading far beyond athletes.   A recent study released by the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition said that the average steroid user was approximately 30 years of age, Caucasian, well educated and not an athlete.

Underage Sex Comes Under Fire

Lawmakers across the country are doling out tougher punishments for sex offenders – from satellite tracking to the death penalty – but a handful of states are starting to ease up on penalties in cases of youths arrested for sex.   Laws enacted this year in Connecticut, Florida, Indiana and Texas try to draw clearer distinctions between sexual predators and adolescents who pose less of a risk, such as those caught in so-called “Romeo and Juliet” relationships.
