Over 21 has come and gone, and yeah, you’re over it. The hype surrounding the Valley’s said hot spots just don’t do it for you anymore. Pounding drinks and fists just isn’t your thing, in fact, maybe it never was. You’re “grown and sexy,” as your Chamillionaire-loving counterparts would say. You want class, but at your old stomping ground all you see is ass, so where do you go to grab a drink now?
Pier 54, located in the residential Tempe Lakes development, is the epitome of sophistication for the student looking to say sayonara to the bar scene. Only open at night during the summer months, this casual, yet upscale patio café overlooking the water is the perfect place for the unpretentious person looking for pleasant conversation instead of pathetic pick-up lines.
The beer and wine selection is as delightfully unique as the charming café and offers Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Kronenbourg and Four Peaks Hefeweizen on draft as well as several options for seasonal wines.
The dinner menu and service, which is just as fantastic, promises to please with dishes such as the strawberry kiwi salad, ravioli Florentine with spinach, fish and chips and the Southwest burger pizza that appeal to both meat lovers and vegetarians.
