For the second time in less than a month, the Dark Carnival will make a stop in Tempe. Hot on the heels of Blaze Ya Dead Homie's appearance last month, horrorcore rap duo Twiztid will bring their unique brand of rap to the Valley.

MCs Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child began their careers in 1993 as members of Detroit underground rap group House of Krazees before leaving in 1997 to form Twiztid. As their name implies, Twiztid's lyrical content is not your average hip-hop fare. These guys are more comfortable with a hatchet in their hands than a gat as they spin their macabre tales of murder and mayhem.

Since signing to Insane Clown Posse's marketing machine known as Psychopathic Records in '97, Twiztid has released six full-length albums, a solo album apiece and a host of EPs and rarity collections. They have established themselves as the label's second-most popular act, behind only ICP themselves.

Their latest album, Independents Day, was released last summer and features a bevy of guest artists, including DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, Tech N9ne and D12's Bizarre. The album is especially notable for containing the final recording by late rapper Proof, also of D12.

Twiztid w/Boondox, Project Born, DJ Clay, Intrinzik, Marquee Theatre, 730 N. Mill Avenue, Tempe, 480.829.0607, March 11, 6:30 p.m., $20 adv, $22 dos
