The truth is out there - maybe at the UFO Skywatch Conference?

Tuesday night my dad and I got in a bit of an argument at dinner. It was about alien life forms. Yeah, my family is kind of nerdy, but whatever.

He contended that aliens probably already visited Earth, or, at the very least, are flying around in spacecraft somewhere in the universe. It's infinite, right? That's not too much of a leap in logic.

I contended there might be life, maybe, somewhere, but they're not in spaceships and they're certainly not anywhere even close to Earth.

I think my dad falls into the category of "optimist," not "crazy." But these people? Well, you can be the judge.

The UFO Skywatch Conference is being held on May 22 through May 24 at the Creative Life Center in Sedona. There will be speakers, including Ed Grimsley from the radio show "Coast to Coast," UFO experts, authors and lots of people wearing tin-foil hats. I'm kidding...maybe. Tickets range from $25 to $325.

Their most interesting claim is that with the use of third-generation night-vision goggles, you can see a variety of UFOs in action darting about the night sky - motherships launching smaller craft, the smaller craft getting into formations and engaging in "space battles" with each other. Amazing!

Perhaps they will prove me wrong and vindicate my dad. Or perhaps it's all a bunch of crap. Who knows? The best part about the universe, the great expanse of nothingness and everything all at once, is that almost anything can be true.
