I hear ya. Az is the pitts. I'm glad people that live in az and write for an az paper aren't afraid to keep it real and find the happy medium of cynicism and humor. This top 10 is better than all the twilight books if you threw them in a blender and mixed it for a bit and then poured out pure golden twilight wording, it would still not be up to par with the delightful deliciousness of this top 10. Sure it's jam-packed with Haterade but hey, I'm thirsty.

i hear you man! ARIZONA SUCKAS MAJOR ASS. i hate it and the bitches that live here. but what pisses me off more than anything is the people who live hre and claim they "love" it. NO! FUCK YOU you can fucking love this fuckin heat. fuck the trash the lives here too. god, its like PHX attracts the natyiest lowest scum ever. FUCK THIS STATE IM MOVING BACK TO CHICAGO!

How true. AZ has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It is hotter than blazes, nothing grows easily, and the sun has baked most of the residents' brains. The welcome signs at the state borders should say "Abandon all hope ye who enter here."

I noticed people drive especially psychotic in the valley in the summer. Maybe because of the heat, maybe because of the meth they just consumed, regardless the reason, people drive frantic and they'll take the biggest chances just to cut someone off or just to make the light, it's really mind-blowing. You sit there and watch someone blow a red light going 80 and for what reason? The new kmk album came out? Their friend is getting a new lifted truck and brand new pair of black socks to match their affliction shirt? What a waste of a state. I'd say 94% of this place is hicks and the rest are people hating this dump and melting away while the hicks live it up.

It's especially true in az with roommates. You ask them to pay you almost a grand for rent when you promised them $460 and they get all annoyed. So dumb. Then all of a sudden, you get home from work and they're gone. This place is rude when it comes to that sort of stuff.

You can't go swimming in the ocean because we don't even have one. It's just a dirty, bud-light infested, white-trash engulfed, cess pool and there's like 50 thousand Trails commercials filmed here because it's the international symbol for garbage and sketchy people.

I'm not going to move because I like it here. And if I didn't I wouldn't waste my time complaining about it, i would leave.
It sounds like you negative people wouldn't be happy anywhere you lived.
I'm just going to go enjoy Sedona, Flagstaff, and all the other amazing places that are in this state and you guys can blog and whine all day.

Just by saying you don't have a twitter, you probably totally do. The point is you have to go out of your way to get to these places and it's not a normal thing for each person that lives here to just drop everything and take off to those locations and even when you do, it's mostly populated by hicks. No normal person without having their brains fried can sit here and talk about how much they enjoy the heat or the general unfriendliness of your typical blank-faced nascar-wearing pedestrian that is more than likely apt to be angry before being nice. The state sucks, sorry little freddie.

I love Arizona

I live in Tempe and I love it. I come from Nebraska, where there's nothing to do; and it's still hot in the summer - but obnoxiously cold in the winter. Nice restaurants, cool people, good social scene, beautiful places to hike and camp, the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff, Bisbee, wine country. This place is worse than Los Angeles, Kansas, North Dakota, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia ... the list goes on and on ... why? Every place has its pros and cons, just as Arizona does. But, in comparison, to so many other places, it's a plenty nice place to live. Seriously, try living in Gary, Indiana, which I did, now that's a place that blows.

Great post however I have some corrections to make. Arizona/the Phoenix metro area is not a melting pot. Its an ethnic salad with many layers that don't get along.

When I arrived I was a bright eyed 20 something hoping for the best. After I took my blinders off and faux positive attitude I came to realize its hell on earth. The jobs here don't pay well. Education and quality work are not valued. Intelligent decent human beings are in short supply. For the most part there really is only two types of people here. Poor douche bags pretending to be wealthy (30k a year millionaires) and Poor douche bags who are violent, dirty, and dangerous.

As for the drivers you have 100 year olds from the mid west who drive 35 on the freeway. Illegal aliens who drive drunk in rolling junk boxes with no license and no insurance. Then there is the shave headed berzerkers in their fall guy trucks that try to run you over even if you are driving 75.

First of all, most everything said above applies only to Phoenix. It's no wonder Phoenix is a horrible place to live; it's filled with people like you. If there's nothing to do, make something to do. Do you think activities and events just appear out of nowhere? Places that have things that are happening are places where people get off their ass, stop whining, and make things happen.

It's even more of a tragedy that you can't grasp the fact that there are people out there that simply cannot stand Az and aren't living with family or whatever other scenario you're trying to play-up on. And even more so, some of us may not have the time or funds to leave as soon as we may want. So in regards to your comment, just because someone doesn't want to live in this state doesn't mean they're less of a person or of low-income or whatever it was you were trying to get-at. I'm not really sure what type of rambling that was for Wildfire but after the first sentence I just lost interest since it was all pretty much total nonsense about living with mom, lol. But nonetheless, good few paragraphs of entertaining babble.

And to AZ Commonsense, I have nothing to prove to your bitter little comment. People are entitled to having a general dislike for the overall sense of coldness of people in this state and/or whatever else may be lacking in angry, cry babies that are oh-so-upset because their precious state isn't loved by all and even more so, their amateur writing isn't loved by all.

So, lurking? Haha, hardly. More just a bit of entertainment to pass the day and view comments from people in a frenzy over it. God forbid someone even read this site, let alone they're "lurking", you'd be rather lucky to have readers as the writing is usually at a level most would question. Downtown Phoenix is great, I've lived there for a while and have no problem with it, it's the other parts of Az that this is also referring to, not just one specific part. Oh, people. Hahah.

So tru!!! i have been living hear since i was a kid im 25 now have moved out 6 times everytime i move out some horriable twist of fate drags me back i love in the north. whare everything electronic magicaly breaks for no reason, its hell, i wish this upon no one!!! if you are here or just moved here get out!!! after a year you are stuck here!!!
