Gear up for the first game with these festive ASU events

This Thursday, Sun Devil Football will take on Weber State in the first football game of the season at Sun Devil Stadium. If you haven’t heard of Weber State, you’re not alone—it’s in Utah. If you have heard of them, it’s most likely because of their atrocious finish last season, with just 2-10. So basically the Sun Devils can almost guarantee a blow out for the first game—a game you wont want to miss.

Plenty of fun stuff will be going on around Tempe prior to the game, so be sure to check out a few and gear up for the game with your fellow Sun Devils.

Devils on College

This one is dvertised as a “new pre-game tradition.” (Seriously, ASU always tries to start “new” traditions. That’s like trying to make “fetch” happen. You can’t force it.) Three hours prior to the game, there will be food trucks, music, cooling stations, and entertainment.

Devils on Mill

Another event to bring the Devils to the streets, Devils on Mill will be starting three hours prior to the game. It’s about the same concept as Devils on College, but with special guest visits from Sparky and the spirit squad. You don’t have to be 21+ to attend this event. If you are an ASU student at the West or Poly campuses, visit the website to find out where the free shuttle will pick you up if you want to attend the event.

Tailgating

Everyone’s favorite football tradition! While ASU has banned kegs at tailgates this year, that wont stop students from having a good time. Parking for tailgating will open at 3:30 p.m. If you are under 21, go hang out for grilling and games.
